Education is an
important part of progress in the Johnstown MSA. In K-12,
total
enrollment in our 24 public school districts numbers over 35,000, and
several private schools add thousands more to that total.
Post secondary education offers superior academic quality -- U.S. News
and World Report ranked the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown the
fourth best public comprehensive college for bachelor's degrees in the
North for the second year in a row. Choices are both plentiful and affordable, with costs
beginning as low as $51 per credit. In fact, US News and World
Report recently ranked Mount Aloysius number one for the lowest average
debt per graduate among liberal arts colleges in the Northern U.S.
And, worker training is a focal point. Several funding and
incentive programs are provided via WEDnet
and other programs to ensure easy access for growing employee skill sets.
