Air Service

The Johnstown MSA is primarily serviced by the John P. Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport (JST), which offers four daily arriving and departing US Air passenger service flights to Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT).  Passenger amenities at JST include a new terminal facility that features car rentals, free parking, access to public transportation and air charter services, and a full-service restaurant that seats 45 people.  JST also offers general aviation services for public and private aircraft, including paved runways (the longest extending 7000 feet), fueling, repairs, hangar space, and crash/fire services.  JST is located in the center of the Johnstown MSA, no more than a 40 to 45 minute drive from anywhere in the region.

Other general aviation airports include the Ebensburg Airport (longest runway 3200 feet), Somerset County Airport (longest runway 4700 feet), and Seven Springs Airport (longest runway 3045 feet).

Ground Freight Service  

Rail freight service is provided by Norfolk Southern, CSX, and the Conemaugh & Blacklick Railroad Company.  Numerous trucking - motor freight carriers are also locally available, as are warehousing and storage facilities.  Contact a JMSA Representative to assist you with information regarding your specific needs.

Major Highways  

The Johnstown MSA is traversed by 3,974 miles of public highways.  Predominant east-west routes include the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76), US 22, US 30, US 40, US 422, and PA 56.  The predominant north-south route is US 219.  Other nearby routes that provide interstate connectivity include I-80 and I-99.

Public Transport 

Two east bound and two west bound Amtrak trains, the Pennsylvanian and the Three Rivers, provide daily passenger rail service to the Johnstown MSA.  Greyhound offers national bus service, and local public bus transit is provided by CamTran and other regional bus services.
